Photos enable us to capture events and moments in time and preserve these for a long time. This is made viable by the use of photograph Cameras. A Camera is a technical device for getting photographic pictures of objects of interest. This device is made from 3 essential elements : the mechanical component ( the Camera body itself ), the optical part ( the Lens ), and the chemical component ( the Film [although there also are digicams that do not utilize the normal film] ). All of the other countless parts and parts which make up a camera simply function to support or boost any of the previously mentioned core functions.

Following which I'll explain the activity of nine of them.

( 1 ) The Camera Body : all of the internal mechanical, optical, and chemical parts of a camera are held together by the Camera body. This serves to guard these very delicate parts. The Camera body also serves as a framework against that the other bits of the Camera articulate to function correctly.

( 2 ) The Lens : The Lens is undoubtedly the most vital part of the Camera ( considering the key point of a Camera ). The lens takes the beams of light rebounding off an object and focuses this light on the image plane so a real image is made that may be snapped. The bigger majority of the alterations and refinements that have happened in the camera since its invention have focused on or round the Lens, and that underlines the significance of this part of the camera.

( 3 ) The Film : This is a thin roll of light -sensitive plastic which is placed at the image plane of the Lens. When the Camera is prepared to take photographs, several devices mix to make sure that the film is exposed to the image formed by the lens. When the film is exposed to the image coming from the lens it records the image, and we have pictures! Before and after use, the film is placed in a light-tight film holder. Unknown to most folks, there aren't any black and white or color cameras. We only have black and white and color films. It's the film that resolves whether a picture will come out as black and white or coloured.

( 4 ) View-finder : This is part of the Camera that helps us choose which object we wish to image. It helps us point the camera in the correct direction and indicates what will or won't appear in the final picture. Range-finders are of 2 types : ( 1 ) Those that work independent of the lens, known as aim-and -shoot cameras ; ( 2 ) The ones that show precisely what the lens is seeing, found in SLR ( Single Lens Reflex ) cameras.

( 5 ) Shutter : The shutter establishes how long the film is exposed to light or to the image coming from the lens. Screens are of 2 types : the one found just behind the lens, called the leaf shutter ; the second type is found in front of the film plane, it's called the focal plane shutter. The shutter is composed of 2 metal sheets or "curtains " which remain shut or closed when the camera isn't in use. But when the shutter release button is depressed, one of those curtains slide open to permit the image from the lens to hit the film. After a passing moment, the second metal sheet of curtain will slide in to shut the opening. The interval between the opening and closing depends on the speed we selected using the shutter speed knob.

( 6 ) Aperture : This is an opening, or hole, at the centre of the lens. The function is to cause pictures to be brightened or dimmed regularly. This is attained by skyrocketing or reducing the scale of the hole, employing a knob called the Aperture Ring. When the opening is enlarged, more light passes thru the lens, causing the picture to brighten. Inversely when the opening decreases, less light is let in, therefore dimming the image or picture.

( 7 ) Flash Shoe ( or Accessory Jack ) : This is the hook to which one may fasten a flash, if one selects to utilise a flash and the camera supports it. This accessory is found just above the View-finder .

( 8 ) Targeting Ring : When we are looking thru the Range-finder , it's the Targeting Ring that's used to bring the object into focus. It is more like an adjuster.

( 9 ) Film Hole : This is the location where the roll of film is placed in the camera. This hole is secured from light. It's a kind of dark chamber whose job is to be certain that the sole light reaching the film is the one coming thru the lens, and even then only when the shutter is open. This is crucial since the film can't distinguish between the light coming from the lens and the one coming from different sources. Without this hole lights from the encircling area would easily hit the film and warp the picture standard.
